Beautifully Batiked Sarong made from heavier, high thread count rayon with abstract fern leaf design on deep shades of blue. Our Premium Quality Rayon Artisan Batik Sarongs are made by Balinese experienced in the art of Batik. They are made of a heavier, higher thread count rayon and the colors are deeper and richer. Most of these sarongs are a triple process batik, as opposed to the more common single and double process batiks.
About Turtle Island Imports Sarongs:
Sarongs are worn in a variety of ways. Wrap as a skirt, top, headpiece, scarf or shawl. They are not only the perfect beach wrap but they make a great tablecloth, wall hanging or curtain. The sarongs (also known as Pareos) we bring you come from Bali. We travel there annually to pick out the finest ones to add to our selection. Most of these beautiful designs are done by batik, applying wax to the fabric to resist the dye. The wax is then removed revealing the design. All are made from fast drying, breathable rayon and measure approximately 66" x 46", not including the fringe. They wash easily by hand or machine. Hang to dry. Wash separately the first time or two.

We love these sarongs. You will, too!

The garment I received measures roughly 44″ wide and 60″ long, excluding the fringe. I like the colors and pattern, but I am not confident that the knotted fringe will stand up to significant wear. Be mindful of that when you’re tying/securing it, and wash it on gentle cycle. I may reinforce the narrow edges with a couple lines of stitching. The 60″ length is ample for me to tie it once around my body (5’7″, slim), but it’s a little short for more complex configurations that need to encircle the body twice. I can bypass this limitation with clever use of string or ribbon, but another time I might just go for an extra large sarong to facilitate those more interesting ties.
